Reviewing it as a hat, it's okay. I had purchased one from Club Monaco years ago and loved how well it's held up. With my old hat, the front face of the dome has kept its shape very well and the brim of the hat was well arched and pre-curved in a fashion reminiscent of a time when baseball caps actually kept the sun out of your eyes and not left flat. The current version has left something to be desired. While very similar in price and style to the old version, the materials feels thinner overall as a whole and the brim is nothing special, the bit I'm more disappointed in is the fact that they left the brand tags on from a sourced company that produces the hats. Both tags were attached to the hat, the CM tag and some Chinese brand I can't't remember. While I know that tons of brands do this, the unboxing experience (I purchased it online) felt like opening a Club Monaco package for designer tshirts to find it was actually made by some TikToker via Teespring. For a $50 ball cap, you'd expect that they'd at least remove the sourced brand tag before shipping it to CM customers but... I guess that's the world we live in now. I purchased a navy and black to replace my current black, but I keep the navy, return the black, and just re-dye my current black with Rit Dye. Maybe even swap out the faux leather strap on the back for real leather on my spare time cause the rest of the hat is in such great condition still, sans the black fading. TLDR; It's an okay hat, the newly sourced hat doesn't live up to previous versions yet it's priced the same.
